John E. Tabarlet, Ph.D, CSCS*D

Braveheart Strength is owned and operated by John Tabarlet.  John has a BS, MS and Ph.D in education and kinesiology. He is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has attained "Re-certified with Distinction" status with the NSCA.  John has coached football and strength at the high school and college level.  Among his former students are professional athletes and national and world champion amateur athletes.  John has coached on nine national collegiate champion powerlifting teams at Nicholls State University, Louisiana Tech University and Louisiana State University. He has also served as a coach on the 2009 USAPL Junior World Team that competed in Brazil, the 2010 Junior Team that competed in Prague, Czech Republic, the 2012 Sub-Junior Team that competed in Szczyrk, Poland, the 2013 Sub-Junior Team that competed in Killeen, Texas and the 2014 Junior and Sub-Junior teams that won World Championships in Oroshaza, Hungary.  Dr. Tabarlet has taught strength and conditioning theory and practice to both undergraduate and graduate students during his time as a professor at Louisiana Tech University and The University of Louisiana at Lafayette.  John is a lifelong competitor in strength sports and continues to compete in powerlifting, strongman and Scottish highland games. In 2015, Dr. Tabarlet was named the Louisiana State Chairman for United States Strongman and is currently promoting contests and encouraging the growth of strongman in Louisiana.
